On 21st June 2026, St. Joseph’s Choir of Mpigi Catholic Parish successfully hosted the Uganda Martyrs Carols, a vibrant celebration that united Christians through prayer, sacred music, and reflection on the heroic witness of the Uganda Martyrs.
The event was organized under the theme of promoting knowledge of the Uganda Martyrs among Christians through music, reminding the faithful that songs of praise are a powerful way of evangelization and preserving the rich heritage of the Church.
Beyond celebrating faith, the Carols also served as a fundraising initiative to strengthen the choir’s music ministry. Funds raised will support the purchase and repair of essential musical equipment, including a keyboard, hymn books (MTO), an amplifier and mixer, musical instruments, repairs to the jazz drum set, and the establishment of a choir development fund.
The celebration attracted several guest choirs and numerous Christians who filled the occasion with joyful worship and fellowship. Throughout the programme, the congregation was inspired by beautiful performances that reflected the courage, faith, and sacrifice of the Uganda Martyrs.
By the end of the event, the choir had received approximately UGX 2,578,000 in cash contributions together with UGX 1,450,000 in pledges, demonstrating the generosity and commitment of the Christian community towards supporting church music ministry.
The choir expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Parish Leadership, the Parish Executive, Patrons, Board Members, all participating choirs, and every Christian whose prayers, attendance, encouragement, and generosity contributed to the success of the event.

As part of its future plans, St. Joseph’s Choir intends to organize the Uganda Martyrs Carols every year, providing an opportunity for more people to grow in faith while supporting the ministry of sacred music within the Church.
